The Spalding High Lady Jaguars basketball team jumped out to a 14-8 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, routing the Riverdale High Lady Raiders 55-29 Tuesday evening in Region 4-AAAA Division B action at SHS.

The Griffin High Bears and Lady Bears will be looking to dish out a cold serving of revenge today as their basketball teams host the Jonesboro Cardinals and Lady Cardinals in Region 4-AAAA Division B action, with girls tipoff slated for 6 p.m. at The House.

A football interest meeting for all eighth-graders zoned for Spalding High School will take place next Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the SHS commons (cafeteria). Please come ready to soak in all the information regarding Jaguars football!

Deaundre Alford scored 22 points, and Brooks Davis and Cornelius Henderson added 11 each Saturday night as Spalding High topped visiting Pike County for the second time in four days, this time 77-35, to sweep the regular season series in Region 4-AAAA Division B boys varsity basketball.

JONESBORO — The Spalding High Jaguars matched Mt. Zion shot for shot in the first half, but the homestanding Bulldogs had a huge third-quarter spurt to wallop the Jags 84-47 Friday night in Region 4-AAAA Division B action at Mt. Zion High.

JONESBORO — The Mt. Zion-Jonesboro Lady Bulldogs raced to a 15-4 first-quarter lead and didn't look back, whipping the Spalding High Lady Jaguars 57-32 Friday night in Region 4-AAAA Division B action at Mt. Zion High.

The Griffin Bears basketball team rebounded from its season-high two-game losing streak in a big way, blitzing the Spalding Jaguars 85-56 Friday night in Region 4-AAAA Division B action at Spalding High.
