HAMPTON — It was a dream start to the 2023 racing campaign for Emma Britt and Curt Britt Motorsports on Saturday.
Emma Britt piloted the No. 38 bandolero to a commanding victory at Atlanta Motor Speedway in the Outlaw division season opener.
Britt was the class of the field all weekend, topping every chart throughout the two-day event.
Britt topped the speed charts in a three-hour practice session on Thursday. Her best lap of the evening was a 17.498, and she ran a total of 74 laps.
Saturday afternoon began with a brief practice session, where, again, she topped the speed charts with a 17.601. She bettered the competition by 0.03 seconds, but knew her speed would improve once the track heated up.
Britt and the Outlaw division took to the track for qualifying. She intentionally laid back so she would have no traffic in front or behind her, aiding her in putting up an uninterrupted hot lap.
As the checkered flag flew, Britt logged a weekend-best 17.344 to take pole position by 0.335 seconds.

As race time arrived, Britt took the green flag with strong competition from Mitchell Flater.
After clearing Flater for sole possession of the lead, she never looked back. Britt led all 20 laps, in a flag-to-flag showstopper.
She padded her lead with each lap, eventually gapping the field by a full two seconds.
“I couldn’t do it without my family,” Britt said in victory lane. “To look at how competitive I am this year, I can’t thank everyone on my team enough for working so hard.”
Britt’s next feature will be at Crisp Motorsports Park, as part of Speed Fest.
Britt has turned multiple laps at the track and looks to keep her momentum going in the heavily-contested weekend.
