Mrs. Mary Patricia “Pat” Wilson Scroggins, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, at The Brian Center in Concord, North Carolina.

The service will be held at a later date at First Baptist Church of Griffin.

Born in Newnan

on Dec. 26, 1937, Mrs. Scroggins

was the daughter of the late William Edward Wilson and the late Mary Grace Wilson.

She was preceded

in death by her husband of 58 years, Robert Perkins Scroggins. She spent her childhood in Newnan and Fort Valley. After graduating from

high school, she attended Florida

State University, where she obtained

a degree in speech and drama.

While teaching school in Griffin, she met and married Robert Perkins “Bob” Scroggins.

Mrs. Scroggins

was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Griffin, where she taught Sunday School and played the piano

for the Saints Alive Choir. She also

served as the pianist for Union Baptist Church for many years.

In addition to her love for music, she also enjoyed playing bridge and being a member of the Wisteria Garden

Club. Pat had a genuine love for people and was

known to always have a smile on her face. She loved her family and was a devoted wife and mother.

Mrs. Scroggins is survived by her two daughters, Claire (Jeff) Eisentrout of Rock Hill, S.C.; and Amy (Scott) Dowsett of Johns Creek; a sister, Ginny (Tuck) Wall of Macon; and a brother, Richard (Anne) Wilson of Columbus; an aunt, Virginia Elliott of Newnan; several nieces and nephews; her three granddaughters, Libby Vining and

Amy Caroline Eisentrout, both of Rock Hill, and Leah Claire Dowsett of Johns Creek.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Scroggins’ name

to The Salvation Army, 725 Meriwether St., Griffin, 30224.
