SPALDING COUNTY — Though meteorologist Dylan Lusk said the metro Atlanta area and Spalding County is looking at “winter weather” this weekend, conditions are uncertain.
Lusk is with the National Weather Service’s Peachtree City office.
The area could possibly get rain and ice, he said, noting “the weather system that’s going to create these potential problems over the weekend is just now getting north over Hawaii.”
He emphasized the chance for snow is too soon to tell.
The weather service is expecting the winter weather to arrive late Saturday into Sunday, Lusk said.
Thursday will be mostly sunny in Spalding with the possibility of passing clouds. A high close to 60 degrees and a low close to freezing, around 33 or 34 degrees, is anticipated. Friday will see highs in the mid-50s and lows near freezing, Lusk forecasted.
The chance of precipitation is not expected, but there may be some passing high clouds, he said.
