Mr. George Fleming “Rip” Moore Jr., age 52, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, at home.
Rip was born on Thursday, March 9, 1970, in Griffin, Georgia, to George F. Moore and Janice B. Moore. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edward and Kathryn Moore as well as his maternal grandparents, Clarence and Mildred Ball.
Rip graduated from Barnesville Academy and attended Gordon Junior College. He was a member of Barnesville First United Methodist Church. Rip was an Eagle Scout and a Georgia Bulldog fan. He loved blogging about his Barnesville Academy Warriors and other football teams. Rip was the vice president of Barnesville Marble and Granite Company and a fourth generation memorialist.
Rip is survived by his parents, George and Janice Moore; wife, Stephanie Tichenor; stepdaughter, Rachel; aunts, Audrey Smith, Jackie Conser and Kitty Woodall; and uncle, Everard Ball. Several cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. George Fleming “Rip” Moore, Jr., were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2022, at Barnesville First United Methodist Church with Pastor Ann Mann and Reverend Woody Roberts officiating. Friends visited with the family from 1 p.m. until the service hour at the church. Interment followed the service in Greenwood Cemetery.
