Butts County Sheriff’s Office investigators have identified the former Griffin resident killed during a Tuesday night shooting in Butts County, which also injured three others.
William Andrew Trawick, 18, was fatally shot during the incident, BCSO Maj. Jeff Nix confirmed Friday morning.
According to the BCSO, the shooting occurred around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at a Brooks Road residence in Butts County.
Preliminary reports show Trawick and a male and female were at the residence when a second group arrived and an altercation took place. Multiple shots were allegedly fired by the second group, injuring the male and female with Trawick at the residence. A male in the second party was shot and injured during the altercation.
The GBI is helping the BCSO in its investigation into the incident. No further details, including the names of the suspects and the names of the victims. were released as of press time Friday.
“We are close to having everyone involved brought to justice,” Nix said Friday morning.
