The Kiwanis Club of Griffin will not hold its annual pancake breakfast at its usual time this year, the club announced earlier this week.
The pancake breakfast would normally have been held on Saturday, Feb. 13, but, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the event is being postponed.
In announcing the postponement of the pancake breakfast, club officials cited increasing COVID-19 numbers in the community as well as the possibility of additional state restrictions.
Club officials say they plan to hold the event later this year, but a date has not been set.
The club is considering holding a drive-through pancake breakfast or a pancake breakfast with outdoor dining options.
The club uses funds from the pancake breakfast for scholarships for local high school seniors.
Once the club can assure that a safe pancake breakfast can be held, the new date will be announced in The Griffin Daily News, on social media and on posters around the city.
