SPALDING COUNTY — A preliminary hearing for the driver of the vehicle that struck the Sun City Peachtree’s gate attendant’s building, killing the attendant inside, has been continued until Jan. 18.
The hearing for David Glosson was originally scheduled for Tuesday in Spalding County Magistrate Court but was canceled due to the illness of a law-enforcement officer scheduled to attend the hearing.
Glosson, 41, is accused of striking the building with his vehicle on Dec. 27, 2021, and then fleeing the scene on foot, arriving at his father’s house in Sun City Peachtree.
Ebenezer Sowunmi, 60, was at his post inside the building when it was struck. Sowunmi was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.
Glosson’s father returned his son to the scene and kept him there until public safety officials arrived.
Glosson is facing numerous charges, including vehicular homicide, driving under the influence and failure to maintain lane, according to authorities. He is being held in the Spalding County Jail, according to authorities.
