A Spalding County grand jury has indicted a Griffin woman on child molestation charges stemming from an alleged relationship she had with an underage teen.
Brianna Elaine Haldeman, 20, was indicted on charges of child molestation and statutory rape. She is scheduled to be arraigned on these charges June 28 in Spalding County Superior Court.
Haldeman was arrested in September on the charges.
According to a Griffin Police Department incident report issued at the time of Haldeman’s arrest, the 14-year-old boy’s aunt told police that her nephew was reportedly involved in a sexual relationship with a 20-year-old woman.
The aunt reportedly found explicit text messages on her nephew’s phone to Haldeman, the report stated.
The aunt told police she confronted Haldeman about the text messages and she allegedly admitted to being involved with the boy. The aunt also told police she recorded the conversation she had with Haldeman.
According to the GPD, the boy’s aunt provided the police with screenshots of the text messages and the video of the conversation she had with Haldeman. Police also took the boy’s phone as evidence.
