Del Taco restaurant expected to open in early spring

Big Dog Electric apprentice Chris Job is pictured Tuesday working at the site of the new Del Taco on North Expressway in Griffin under the direction of foreman Alex Madison (not pictured). Venture general contractor Mitch Bruce said the project has an end-of-March completion date.

A Del Taco is expected to open on North Expressway in Griffin in late March or early April.

The restaurant is expected to have about 60 employees and a seating capacity of 100, according to Jeff Fisher, managing partner of the franchise that will operate the restaurant.

The restaurant will be similar to other Del Taco restaurants in the metro Atlanta area and will have a drive-through window, Fisher said.

“We liked the spot, and we liked the town,” Fisher said about the franchise’s decision to open a Del Taco in Griffin. “We are excited about being in Griffin.”

Fisher said the franchise will begin interviewing candidates for shift manager positions this week. He expects employee training to begin Feb. 1

Mac Kamara, owner of Roswell-based MK Energy LLC, is the franchisee.

“Our group’s operations are based in the Atlanta market with additional locations in Southern California. I’ve seen firsthand how Del Taco’s winning combination of freshly prepared food served at a tremendous value creates fans and drives traffic,” Kamara said in article published on the website franchising.com in April 2018.
