Brightmoor Hospice makes biker’s wish come true

Brightmoor Hospice, in partnership with Second Wind Dreams, fulfilled the wish of motorcycle enthusiast Steve Addison Sr.

SPECIAL TO THE DAILY NEWS

You are never too old to dream. On Sunday, April 18, Brightmoor Hospice was able to fulfill the dream of Steve Addison Sr., who has been an avid motorcycle lover his entire life.

Thanks to an outpouring of support from the community, Brightmoor Hospice, in partnership with Second Wind Dreams, was able to grant Addison’s wish of going on a motorcycle ride and reliving his glory days on the open road.

A team was assembled to assist with fulfilling his dream and thanks to the generous support of Biker’s Against Abuse International, Freedom Motorsports, and Sidecar Adventures, among many others, Addison was able to take part in a special ride in his honor. The ride staged at Hunter Recreation Complex in Sharpsburg, and friends and family lined up to see off Addison. He was all smiles as they pulled out of the complex accompanied by an escort of more than 100 riders from all over the state.

Volunteer Coordinator Amy Epperson said, “We were honored to be able to make this dream come true for Steve and be part of such a special day. There is nothing better than putting a smile on someone’s face and we are grateful for everyone that helped make this ride such a success.”
