A traffic stop Monday morning in Bibb County led to the arrest of two suspects on drug and weapon charges.

Robert Clarence Johnson III, 18, and Rachel Ann Duehring, 19, both of Macon, are charged with the possession, purchase, manufacture, distribution of marijuana; possession of a firearm during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies; and manufacture/possession of a controlled/counterfeit substance or marijuana near a park or housing project.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, BCSO gang investigators made a traffic stop of a Nissan Sentra for a seat-belt violation at about 11:15 a.m. Monday.

Investigators observed a strong odor of marijuana during the traffic stop and then searched the vehicle. A handgun, suspected marijuana, suspected drug packing paraphernalia and cash were reportedly found during the search, the BCSO reported.

Johnson and Duehring were being held without bond in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
