GIRLS SOFTBALL REGISTRATION: The Griffin Spalding Youth Softball Association is accepting registrations for the fall season. Register at Volunteer Park softball office on Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m., through the month of August.

MOOSE LEGION CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT: Deadline is 6 p.m., Aug. 26 to enter the Griffin Moose Lodge No. 1503’s inaugural Griffin Moose Legion Charity Golf Tournament 8 p.m., Aug. 29 at the Griffin Country Club. Cost is $60 per player and includes cart, greens fee, lunch and social. The Ft. Lauderdale-style tournament, which organizers are hoping to make an annual event, will have a shotgun start. The golf committee will draw up the teams. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Mooseheart, Moosehaven and local charities.

Social and team introductions will be held at 7 p.m. on Aug. 28. A lunch and awards ceremony will follow the tournament. Griffin Moose Lodge No. 1503 invites spouses or dates to attend all functions put on by the lodge. COUNTRY CLUB CHARITY TOURNAMENT AUG. 21: The Griffin Country Club is hosting the Cart Path Classic to benefit the Susan G. Komen’s three-day walk for breast cancer on Saturday, Aug. 21. Cost is $300 per team or $75 per person ($150 to sponsor a hole). The tournament format will be four-man team scramble. If you don’t have a team, you will be added to a team. There will be a shotgun start at either 8:30 a.m. or 2 p.m. Call (770) 228-4744 to sign up.

The tournament is open to all. Prizes include a weekend getaway in a mountain lodge, GPS hand-held device, gift card from Serendipity, gifts from Hallmark, private golf lessons, green fee gift cards and dinner for two at the Griffin Country Club as well as a gift bag for everyone who plays.

SPALDING HIGH FOOTBALL TICKETS: Season tickets for the 2010 Spalding High Jaguars football season are on sale from 8 a.m., until 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays until Sept. 3 at SHS. Season tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for senior citizens (62), and $15 for students. System employees get in free with their pass. All tickets at the gate on the day of the game are $7.
