Mr. Joseph Douglas “Jimmy” Wesley Jr., 76, of Meansville, passed away April 17, 2010. He was born in Concord on Jan. 24, 1934. He worked for Bell South for 41 years, was a longtime member of Fincher United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting and talking. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Clark Wesley.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Dee Wesley of Meansville, and Mark and Gina Wesley of Griffin; grandchildren and their spouses, Brook and Yancey Smith of Griffin, Brad Wesley of Griffin, Danny and Megan Wesley of Meansville and Jake Wesley of Houston, Texas; great-grandchildren, Ethan Wesley, Brent Smith, Max Wesley and Sam Wesley.

Friends visited the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 20 in the Fincher Chapel at Life Springs United Methodist Church in Meansville. The Rev. Kyle Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Fincher Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Wesley will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service to lie in state. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Life Springs Church, P.O. Box 392, Zebulon, GA 30295.
