The Georgia Explosion, an 8-and-under AAU girls basketball team recently won the North Atlanta Invitational.
Dais’ya Reid scored 16 points, Aniya Jester 4, and Averyana Nelson and Zacoria Berry 2 each to lead the team to victory 24-18 in the title game March 28 against the Atlanta Cagers.
The Georgia Explosion reached the finals by disposing of the Georgia Pistols 52-12 in the semifinals.
In that game, Reid, Nelson and Kayla Milner scored 12 points each, while Berry added 8, Jester 6 and Ver’Nayia Murphy 2.
The Georgia Explosion opened the tournament with a 35-24 win against the Atlanta Cagers. Reid scored 23 to lead the Explosion, while Milner hit for 8, and Jester and Nelson had 2 each.
