JONESBORO, Ga. — The party train keeps on rolling for the Griffin High Lady Bears soccer team.

The Lady Bears improved to 8-0 on the season with a 2-0 victory over the Jonesboro Lady Cardinals Friday evening in Region 4-AAAA action on the road.

“We didn’t play too well, but we got the win and that’s all that mattered,” said Lady Bears head coach Jerry Fields.

Griffin, which also improves to 4-0 in the region, got its first goal from Christina Odom on an assist from Bailey Slaughter.

The next goal came from Tori Hornsby and the assist on the goal came from Geneline Prince.

The Lady Bears hit the road for the next two matches, starting with a huge match against undefeated Ola on Tuesday and Forest Park on Wednesday. Griffin hosts North Clayton on Friday.

The Lady Bears will face their crosstown rivals, Spalding High, on Friday, April 9.
