LaMaison Derm Esthetics will host its second annual Lasers 4 Literacy fund-raiser event this Saturday, from 9 a.m. to noon at 747 S. Hill St., as all proceeds from laser treatments performed that day will benefit Griffin-Spalding Adult Literacy. Participants must schedule an appointment to be seen on Saturday, and some spots are still available, said Tara Sandburg, laser technician at LaMaison Derm Esthetics.

All services offered during Lasers 4 Literacy are tax-deductible and come with a discount of about 20 percent. These services include laser hair removal starting at $40 or acne light treatments at $120. They also include a $47 microdermabrasion treatment, which deals with the skin’s top layer, or a $200 pixel treatment for the purpose of skin resurfacing.

While there is no specific goal as to how much money the fund-raiser should generate, any contribution is appreciated, said Sandburg.

LaMaison’s support for the local adult literacy program came without a question, because the ability to read and write helps open up job opportunities, said Sandburg.

“It just has an impact on the individual’s ability to participate in society and to understand the important public issues,” she said.

To schedule an appointment, call LaMaison Derm Esthetics at 678-284-1195.
