She was born in Griffin to the late Rev. G.A. Middlebrooks and Erabelle Worthy Middlebrooks. She enjoyed playing the piano and was the pianist at Mount Gilead Baptist Church for many years. She also enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Vickery; and sisters, Juanita Creel and Joann Ray.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Robin and Terry Austin of Seymour and Dave and Dawn Johnson of Griffin; grandchildren, Zack Smith and his wife Megan, Jared Smith, Codie Smith, Micayla Bounds, Rebecca Johnson, Anna Johnson, Hannah Davidson and Jacob Davidson; and her loving companion, her dog Macie.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, in Oak Hill Cemetery in Griffin with the Rev. Wayne Chasteen officiating. Friends may visit the family from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
