Pike County Sheriff’s Office deputies who responded to the incident were told that three suspects in an SUV had used their vehicle to block the victims’ vehicle and then ordered the victims to get out of their vehicle, according to a Sheriff’s Office press release.
The suspects had drawn guns at this time.
After interviewing the victims, authorities learned that the robbery was initiated to steal drugs. The suspects struck one person in the head with a gun and fired several times at one of the victims, the release said.
During the course of the investigation, investigators determined that a gun used in the robbery had been discarded in a lake near Chapman Road. The lake was searched and a sawed-off shotgun linked to the robbery was recovered.
