Mrs. Kelly was born Oct. 23, 1929, in Carl, Ga. She was the daughter of the late James Edward Elder and Lillie Everett Elder. She was a resident of St. George’s Court for over 10 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Marion Kelly; and brothers, Henry G. Elder and James P. Elder.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James Gary and Judie Kelly of Cairo, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Stan Purser of Griffin; grandchildren, Brian Kelly of Gainesville, Ga., Brandon Kelly of Sahuarita, Ariz., and Shannon Purser of Griffin; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Ruth Kelly will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. The Rev. Jim Cannady will officiate. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Hillcrest Cemetery, 609 Connally Drive, East Point, Ga. Friends may visit the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at the funeral home.
