To the editor: In response to the letter from Mr. Lapierre, the SheMan Pageant was done for a great cause and all in fun. Most of the men in the pageant were good family men who are Christians. No perversion was meant or taken from the other families that were in attendance at the pageant and all those that supported the fund-raiser. I’m sure the “intelligent” men in the pageant are just fine with their sexuality and proud God made them men and fathers. Kudos to them for having the nerve and sense of humor to even participate. I’m sure God took no offense in it.

— Matthew 7:1-5-Judge not, lest ye be judged.

— John 7:24-Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.

— Luke 6:37-Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Practice what you preach.

I think the whole idea of a pageant like the She-Man Contest is awesome! My husband participated in one for the Pike Relay for Life years ago with Wally Weatherbee and they were two of the ugliest "she-males" in the world. But we raised money for fighting cancer. I say "BRAVO" to any man who participates! It takes a sense of fun, a sense of humor, and a belief that we CAN and WILL get rid of cancer someday!

Coming from someone who has lost TOO many people I love to the damn disease, I offer my husband for the contest next year... And he will do it! How do we get involved?!?!?
