Mr. Newton Moss, 90, of Griffin, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2009, at his residence.

Mr. Moss was born on Dec. 29, 1918, in Fulton County to the late Charles Rufus Moss and the late Emma Chloe Moss. He was a member of the Crestview Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. Mr. Moss formerly owned and operated Moss Motor Company, known as Atlanta Truck Center. He was the past president of the Georgia Association of Car Dealers and a member of the Masonic Lodge in East Point.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Naomi Moss; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Randall Hudson of Sunny Side; daughter, Glenda K. Moss of Griffin; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Fred McGhin of Griffin; grandchildren and their spouses, Chuck and Tiffany Hudson, Ronald and Debbie Hudson, Lisa and Bill Weatherup, Stephanie and Danny Turner, Jennifer and Josh Morgan; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2009, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2009, in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Griffin Memorial Gardens.
