Janet W. Joiner, a native of Brooks, Ga., and a resident of Mobile, Ala., died Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at the Sacred Heart Residence of the Little Sisters of the Poor.

She was a resident of the Little Sisters of the Poor for the past six years. She was the daughter of the late Henry Eugene and Irma Gable Wilson. She was preceded in death by one son, Fabian Joiner; three brothers, Henry Wilson, James Wilson, and Thomas E. “Gene” Wilson; and one sister, Regina W. Turner.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Joe Joiner and his wife, Sharon, and Reggie W. Joiner and his wife, Rebecca, both of Mobile, Ala.; two brothers, Jack Wilson and his wife, Bernice, of Grandburry, Texas, and Jesse Wilson and his wife, Ede, of Tallahassee, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Montine I. Wilson, of Griffin, Ga.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008, at the Sacred Heart Residence of the Little Sisters of the Poor. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, in Macon Memorial Park in Macon, Ga. Funeral arrangements by Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin St., Mobile, AL 36606 and Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery has charge of the arrangements.
