Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Mitcham had their granddaughter, Jennie Williams, as their guest.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Blume and children were home after a weeks vacation in Ormond Beach, Fla.

Mrs. Jewel North had Mrs. Peter Manning, Billy, Pete and Jane Smith as her guests.

Postmaster A.B. Mitcham announced that safety awards were given to Mrs. Mary Barfield and Jack Dupree, carriers from the Hampton Post Office.

Mrs. Eddie North spent the day in Newnan with her sister, Mrs. Peter Manning.

Mr. and Mrs. Ted Ballard, Stephanie and Amie and Mrs. Ruth Smith spent several days touring the North Georgia Mountains.

Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Wasserman and children, Smitty and Cathy, visited his sister, Mrs. Olan Richardson during the week.

Andrew Baird attended the Eighth Annual University of Tennessee at Martin Baseball Camp.

Rodney Spencer was the top youth bowler in the adult-youth bowling league with a 247 game and a 609 series.

Daryl Stimson and Rick Hylton were sprucing up the U.S. Air Force jet trainer at the Griffin-Spalding Airport.

David Nall, a cello student of Mrs. Erin Barnette, was presented in senior recital in the Cheatham Auditorium, First Baptist Church.

Kelli Calhoun and son, Ron, took a plunge down a water slide at North Griffin Square.

Joseph Stonica met his daughter after 52 years thanks to an Internet search.

Third Ward School student Josh Hoffman said the accomplishment he was most proud of was learning in school.

Andrecio McElhaney was working on an alphabet puzzle at Third Ward Elementary School.

Master Sgt. Lee McRae was completing forms in the ROTC department at Griffin High School.

Students who made the All-A honor roll at Jackson Road Elementary were Kelly Carter, Nikki Corzine, Leslie Crowley, Rebecca Do, Jessie Fields, Jeri Johnson, Heather Kennedy, Britney Kenney and Jamie Landers.

Griffin High School graduates Ashley Mullins, Lari Parks, Ciera Walker and Candice Chatman shared a hug before commencement ceremonies at Memorial Stadium.

Valedictorian Vernoris Latrell Taylor delivered his speech to Griffin High School seniors, faculty and staff at Memorial Stadium and reminded students to stay focused.

Johnnie Mae Stargell saw her nephew, Charles Sullivan graduate from Griffin High School.

Gloria Fields, Wanda Whitley, Madeline Atkinson, Sherri Atkinson and Mary Pilcher made up five generations of the Pilcher family.

Kinny DeLay, PA-C, Scott Dickerson, PA-C and Allan Imes, PA-C were physicians at the Family Medical Center in Griffin.

Akita D. Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jones, graduated from Valdosta State College.

Chick-fil-A, Inc. awarded its national Leadership Scholarship to Zebulon’s Alexis Kennedy.
