Spalding High cross country head coach Dolores Owen finalized and released her team’s schedule earlier this month with a message for her team: “Be ready to run.”
The Jaguars and Lady Jags will run an 10-meet schedule, not including the region meet Oct. 30 - which SHS will host - and the Class AAA state meet in Carrollton on Nov. 8.

n Oct. 25 at Carrollton
n Oct. 30 Region (at SHS)
n Nov. 8 State (at Carrollton)
“The ranking will be released next week,” said Owen, “and I really expect both teams to be ranked in the top 10, again.”
The Jags finished 10th and the Lady Jags 11th last year at state. Both were Top-10 ranked for most of the season. Both only lost one senior to graduation and return their best runner - rising sophomore Jenna Wesley in the case of the Lady Jags and rising senior Will Ficklen in the case of the Jags.
The team’s first meeting is 10 a.m., Aug. 1 in the main office.
