Mr. Edwards was born June 30, 1915, in Monroe County Ga., son of the late Joseph B. Edwards and the late Susie Hensley Edwards. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Griffin. He retired from Milling Motor Company as the service manager. He was preceded in death by brothers, Patrick Edwards and Ralph Edwards, and sister, Carolyn Pitts.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Buffington Edwards of Griffin; son and daughter-in-law, John Michael and Sally Anne Edwards of College Park; grandchildren, Jonathan Turner Edwards of Atlanta, Ashton Denise and her husband Jeremy Bennett of Milner, and Michael Chase Edwards of College Park; great-grandson, Declen Bennett of Milner; and sister, Sue Edwards Whiddon of Harlem.
Memorial services for Mr. Jesse Hiram Edwards will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2008, in the Warren Haisten Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Timothy Hobbs will officiate. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
