Griffin-Spalding school board to discuss budget

Among the items on the agenda for tonight’s Griffin-Spalding County Board of Education meeting will be the first reading of the 2009 budget.

In addition, there will be the recognition of a Golden Achievement Award from the National School of Public Relations Association to the “Kids in Need Free Store for Teachers” as well as a number of administrative items, including bids, in preparation for the 2008-2009 school year.

Scott Owens of Wal-Mart and Sadie Scott of United Bank are also scheduled for appointment to the Partners in Education board of directors for the 2008-2010 term.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the board room at 216 S. Sixth St.
