Once again, Spalding County residents will join others across the nation Monday to honor and pay homage to the men and women who have fought and died defending the country.
The county’s annual Memorial Day gathering will take place at 11 a.m. at Memorial Park, across from the library on Memorial Drive.
The public is invited to bring lawn chairs and pay tribute, and the event is being sponsored by VFW Posts 5448 an 8480.
Military cemetery brick pavers will be dedicated and placed in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, and, as part of the program, casket flags will again be dedicated to be flown at the park. Persons with casket flags are encouraged to call VFW Post 5448 Commander Daniel Ham at 770-228-6728 or 770-367-5131 for more information.
