A 26-year-old Griffin man, Tyler J. Abrams, of 39 Linda Lane, was on Sunday arrested by investigators with the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division and charged with kidnapping, burglary, aggravated assault, criminal damage to property, family violence battery and battery in connection with an alleged incident involving his estranged wife.

Spalding County Sheriff Dee Stewart said Abrams was involved in a domestic dispute when he broke into his estranged wife’s East Griffin residence, assaulted her and attempted to drag her to his vehicle.

Authorities said another woman at the residence at the time the incident occurred attempted to intervene on behalf of the victim.

The woman who came to the victim’s assistance, who also allegedly was assaulted by Abrams, fought him off with a knife.

She administered several stab wounds, with the most significant being in Abrams’ side.

According to Stewart, the good samaritan was transported to Spalding Regional Medical Center, where she was treated and later released.

Abrams also received treatment at SRMC, and, upon his release, was arrested.
