The Griffin Technical College Foundation Drive “Fore” Education Invitational Golf Tournament will be Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Griffin Country Club with proceeds benefitting the campus expansion efforts at Griffin Technical College. Tournament registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and play begins at 10 a.m.  

Car Seat Safety/Installation Awareness Class. 4 to 6 p.m. on April 29 at the Spalding County DFCS Office, 411 E. Solomon St., Griffin. Free to attend the class. $10 charge per seat needed. Medicaid eligible participants with car seat age child(ren) can receive a new age/weight appropriate car seat for the price of $10 and class attendance. Class attendance is mandatory to purchase a seat. Seating is limited. Participants must register by April 29 at 12 p.m.  

The Governmental Affairs Committee of the Griffin-Spalding Chamber of Commerce has invited the members of the local legislative delegation to speak at their regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 1. The breakfast meeting will be held at the Griffin Welcome Center. Reservations can be made by calling the Chamber of Commerce office at 770-228-8200 by Tuesday, April 29, 2008.

Middle Georgia Community Action Agency Inc. will be distributing in Spalding County on Wednesday April 30 at Fairmont Park Recreational, 241 Blanton Ave., Griffin, Ga. Bring proof of your address. If you are picking up food for a household other than your own, you must have a completed authorization form signed by the head of that household. 770-567-8116.
