Old McDonald would have been proud Friday because almost every animal from his farm was present and accounted for at Farm Bureau’s annual Farm Day at the Kiwanis Fairgrounds.
Griffin-Spalding County elementary students got an opportunity to see different farm animals and learn about plants, soil and farm equipment.
At one booth, students even got a firsthand lesson on the association between cows and hamburgers.
First-time exhibitor Kay James said she will definitely return. Because of the size and temperament of her Nigerian dwarf goats, students were able to pet them as well as Morgan Kelley’s chickens.
Spalding County 4-H Horse Club students drew large crowds as they taught mini courses on caring for horses and their gear.
