Josh Tapley scored three runs, while Austin Hurt, Cameron Scott and Josh Rice each scored two runs to lead the team.
Spalding jumped out to a 2-0 run after the first inning with an RBI triple by Scott and a sacrifice hit by Matt Gasses.
Spalding added to its lead with six runs in the second inning. Rice, Hurt, Tapley, Scott, Gasses and Travis Lee scored in the inning to give Spalding the 8-0 lead after two innings.
Forest Park got on the board in the top of the third inning with three runs off Spalding starting pitcher Heath White.
The Panthers added another run in the top of the fourth to cut the Jaguars’ lead to 8-4, but that would be all the offense Forest Park could produce.
White finished the game with four innings pitched, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out eight batters.
Spalding ended the game on a 10-run rule as Hurt, Tapley, Rice, John McGhee, Taylor Dunn and Chad Bennett scored in the bottom of the fifth to give the Jaguars the win.
Spalding’s season continues on Thursday as the Jaguars travel to face Georgia Military College. The Bulldogs defeated Spalding 7-1 on March 3 in the Jaguars; home opener.
