Spalding High School’s Shay Williams was named the Griffin Daily News Player of the Week for her performance during this week’s games.
Williams scored a team-high 15 points Tuesday against Eagles Landing and Saturday against Central Macon. She also added 15 points in Friday’s loss to Mary Persons.
Others considered for this week’s award include:
-- Elem Ibiam, Spalding: Ibiam scored 14 points for the Lady Jaguars against Central Macon and 10 points for the against Eagles Landing and Mary Persons.
-- Tedra Alford, Griffin: Alford scored a game-high 18 points for the Lady Bears in Tuesday’s win against Riverdale and 16 points in Friday’s win against Forest Park.
-- C.J. Curry, Spalding: Curry scored a team-high 19 points Saturday against Central Macon and 16 points on Tuesday against Eagles Landing.
-- Shaq Barber, Griffin: Barber scored a team-high 22 points in Friday’s loss to Forest Park and 10 points in Tuesday’s loss to Riverdale.
