He served in the United States Army, was a house builder, a member of Panhandle Baptist Church, in Clayton County, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Margene; his father, Walter Wilson Lindsey; and his sister, Marie Archer.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ellison Lindsey; mother, Odella Holman, of Concord; children, Gregg and Kathy; brothers, sisters and their spouses, Stanley and Mary Ann Lindsey, of McDonough, David and Wanda Lindsey, of Williamson, Sandra Balliew and Kathy and Bill Spelce, all of Concord; special grandchildren, Hunter, Adam and Robby; numerous nieces, nephews and step-children.
Funeral services for Mr. Walter Lindsey will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, in the chapel of Moody Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Magness officiating. Interment will follow in Moody Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the funeral home.
