Mrs. Lena Jett, 77, of Griffin passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at her residence from a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Jett was born in Green County on Feb. 6, 1930, to the late Brice McEver and the late Elna Burnette McEver. She is preceded in death by daughter, Rhonda Marie Jett; and siblings, Walter McEver, Elizabeth McEver, Roy McEver, Raymond McEver and Jean Hall. Mrs. Jett was a textile worker until 1972, then devoted her time to being a mother and grandmother until the time of her death.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, William “Frank” Jett; children and their spouses, Edna and Tommy Gregg, Tommy and Hilda Jett, Juanita and David Perdue, Rene and Bernie Loftus, all of Griffin; sisters, Mildred Phillips and Ann Smith; sister-in-law, Carolyn McEver, all of McDonough; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Jett will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. The Rev. Hugh Smith Sr. will officiate. Interment will follow in Griffin Memorial Gardens.
