Mr. Hambrick was born Jan. 25, 1934, in Griffin, son of the late Homer Union Hambrick and the late Jewell Pitts Hambrick. Mr. Hambrick was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired after 26 years of service from the University of Georgia Experiment Station. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Hambrick was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Sandra Turner Hambrick; sisters, Eloise Morris, Betty Hambrick and Marian Hambrick; brothers, Leon Hambrick, Ronald Hambrick and Donald Hambrick; and father-in-law, Hoke Turner.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Rhonda Hambrick of Williamson; stepdaughter, Wanda Schultz of Meansville; grandchildren, Matthew Hambrick, Brandi Schultz and Kenny Schultz; brother and sister-in-law, James and Maynell Hambrick; sister-in-law, Anne Hambrick; mother-in-law, Margeret Turner; brothers and sisters-in-law, Darlene Chambers, Dale and Dixie Turner, David and Louise Turner, Robert and Pam Turner, Donnie and Kim Turner, and Debra Turner; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. William D. “Billy” Hambrick Sr. will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, in the Warren Haisten Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens.
