Mr. Bethune was born April 5, 1933, in Spalding County, to the late Thomas Clarence Bethune and the late Inez Whatley Bethune. He was preceded in death by his twin sons, Jeffery Kim Bethune and Jack Kelley Bethune. Mr. Bethune retired from Coca-Cola and was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lanelle R. Bethune; daughter, Claire B. Saunier and son-in-law, Don Saunier, of Griffin; grandson, Samuel C. Saunier; sister, Helen Martin, of Milner; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Butch Bethune will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, in the chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
