She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Eitel, of Pooler, Ga.; her sisters, Dorothy Gates and Louise Bowdle; and a brother, J.B. Eitel. She enjoyed ceramics, gardening, crocheting and watching her favorite shows, “The Price is Right” and “Fear Factor.”
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, James David Huckaby; daughter, Barbara McKay Jeffreys and her husband, Howard D. Jeffreys, of Zebulon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carlisle and Alvin Floyd, of Townsend, Patsy and Del Simmons, of Little Rock, Ark., and Carol and Thomas Ragan, of Savannah; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert and Bonnie Huckaby of Meansville, Donald and Shirley Huckaby, of Adel, Margaret Hutchinson, of Stockbridge, Jeanette Huckaby and Betty Ann and Nathan Cooper, all of Griffin; grandchildren, Annette Bozeman and her husband, Keith, of Meansville, Richard Griffin and K.T. Vick of California, Brian Griffin and his wife, Tina, of Meansville, Shawn D. Wyatt, who is serving in Iraq, Danielle Jeffreys, of Florida and Maria Hall, of Dothan, Ala.; seven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Norma Huckaby will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, in the chapel of Moody Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Kemp and the Rev. Gene Walton officiating. Interment will follow in Fincher Memorial Cemetery, in Meansville. Friends may visit the family from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Huckaby may be made to the Fincher United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 327, Meansville, GA 30256.
