53 World War II veterans to receive medallions from Northern Mariana Islands
Griffin High School JROTC cadets Jessica Harrell, Sarah Negris and Michelle Truett admire the medallions that will be awarded to 53 World War II veterans at Veterans Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The medallion is an honor for veterans who helped drive out Japanese forces from islands in the Pacific. The government of the Northern Mariana Islands sponsors the award.
