Four people are in the hospital after a car accident on Georgia Highway 16.

According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper J.T. McMillan, a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Jordan Andrew, 20, crossed the yellow line and hit a Chevrolet Malibu driven by Robin Ramsey, 47, “headlight to headlight” about 3 p.m. Monday.

The impact knocked the Malibu off the road and Ramsey was trapped in the vehicle. The accident took place near Briarcliff Road about six miles west of Griffin city limits.

Emergency personnel extricated Ramsey and a medical helicopter took her to the Atlanta Medical Center, where she remains in intensive care.

Andrew and his passengers, Edgar Lopez and Salvador Rodriguez, had, according to McMillan, “visible injuries and complaints” and were taken to Spalding Regional Medical Center.
