Spalding also swept doubles where Daniel Blake and Andrew Winter (8-0) won at No. 1 doubles and James Dunaway and Barrett Lavender (8-0) won at No. 2 doubles.

Spalding High continues its season with matches Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week. SHS hosts Mary Persons in a non-region match on Monday before hitting the road for region matches Tuesday at Stockbridge and Wednesday at Riverdale.

The region tournament, originally scheduled for April 8-10, has been moved to April 16-17 at The Beach in Jonesboro because of the number of schools in the region that will be on spring break the week of April 8-10.

“Only Upson-Lee and us were not on break,” said Crawford.
