Griffin High swept Newnan on Tuesday at home in non-region action, with the Lady Bears winning 3-2 and Bears 4-1.

Scoring points for the Lady Bears (7-4 overall, 5-2 region) — which have won five of their last six matches — were Rebecca Rose Hill (8-4), Sarah Mallett (8-3) and Forrest Dukes (8-2) in No. 1-3 singles, respectively.

Scoring points for the Bears (4-7 overall, 3-4 region) were Randy Chastain (8-4), Mahlon Robinson (8-3) and Ricky Lewis (8-1) in No. 1-3 singles, respectively, as well as the doubled team of Bradley Durden and Christian Hughley (8-6).

Griffin closes out its home schedule with a match at 4 p.m. today against Eagle’s Landing. It will be Senior Night for the Bears and Lady Bears which still have road matches at North Clayton, Locust Grove, Alcovy and Lamar before the Region 4-AAAA tournament begins on April 8-9.
