Mr. Philip E. Chiges, of Zebulon, has passed away at age 69.

Mr. Chiges was born in Chicago, Ill. on Jan. 10, 1943 to the late George G Chiges and the late Edith Wilson Chiges. Philip did auto body work and owned his own car and truck upholstery business before retiring. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, traveling and enjoyed going to the Pike County Senior Center on a weekly basis. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Zebulon.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Phillip E. Chiges, Jr. and Dianne of Forsyth; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia D. Pollette and Larry of Hampton; three granddaughters; one grandson; and two great-grandsons.

Memorial services for Mr. Philip E. Chiges will be conducted Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church in Zebulon. Pastor Nesbit Odom will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations may be made to the fund set up in his name at United Bank to help cover funeral and estate expenses.
