WILD GAME BANQUET: Second Baptist Church of Griffin will hold its 22nd annual Wild Game Banquet 5 p.m., April 6 in The Fields at Second Baptist Church of Griffin.

Jeff Deaver of X-treme Christian Television will be the featured speaker.

SHS GOLF TEAM: FORSYTH — Carson Willis shot a 39, Parker Plageman a 40 and Landon Colwell a 41 to lead the Spalding High golf team (163) to a sweep of Mary Persons (165) and Jones County (181) in the season opener this week at River Forest Country Club.

Rounding out Spalding’s lineup were Jake Harpe (43), Tye Waller (43) and Mark Moody (45). Spalding also had two girls, Emma Johnston (50) and Alex Martinez (63), compete as individuals and place third and fourth respectively in a field of 10.

Spalding continues its season 4 p.m., Monday against Jackson High at Hickory Hills in Jackson.

SHS SPRING BASKETBALL: Calling all county hoops legends! Do you want to lace up your sneakers and see who’s the best?

If that’s your goal, then join the upcoming Spalding High Spring Basketball Men’s League for men ages 21 and up. The registration for the league is through Tuesday, March 12.

Cost is $350 per team. The games will be played at the Spalding High gym on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-9 p.m., starting March 20.

KIWANIS KIDS LEAGUE: The Kiwanis Kids league will begin playing baseball at the First Christian Church on the corner of Pinehill Road and Poplar Street at 9 a.m., March 23 and each Saturday through May 4.

An end-of-season party, complete with trophy and medallion presentations, will follow at the end of the season.
