RIVERDALE — The Griffin High Lady Bears soccer team came back from a 1-0 deficit at halftime to defeat the Riverdale Lady Raiders 2-1 in Region 4-AAAA action last Friday evening on the road.

Griffin senior Christina Odom scored both goals for the Lady Bears, who now improve to 2-4 overall and 2-1 in region play. It’s the Lady Bears’ first win streak in more than a year and Odom has scored four of the team’s five goals this season.

One of Odom’s goals was assisted by Madison Weems and the other was an unassisted goal against their keeper.

Griffin gets back in action today against region today against region foe Eagle’s Landing at 5:30 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.

Riverdale 5, Griffin 1 (boys): In the late match Friday, the Griffin High boys team fell 5-1 to the Raiders of Riverdale.

Tristan Mathis scored the lone goal for Griffin (1-5 overall, 0-3 region), a header off a corner kick.

The Bears get back in action today against region foe Eagle’s Landing at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
