Mrs. Sara Crawford Goodman Presley, 90, of Griffin, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Brightmoor Nursing Center.
Mrs. Presley retired from Dundee Mills Lowell Bleachery, where she worked as a payroll clerk. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Griffin and past secretary of the Ruth Sunday School class. Mrs. Presley was also a member of First National Bank First Friends Club. Mrs. Presley was born June 3, 1922, in McDonough, Ga., to the late Henry Delbert Crawford and the late Annie Lou McCullough Crawford. She was also preceded in death by husbands James (Jimmy) Goodman and Carlton C. Presley, sister Virginia Crawford Bannister and brother Harold Crawford.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Ginger Goodman of Griffin and Danny and Eileen Goodman of Williamson; stepson and wife Carl Presley and Carolee of Jonesboro; grandchildren Jina Goodman Chapman (Adrian), Dawn Goodman Ertz, Jamey Goodman (Brook), Jason Goodman, Dayna Goodman Little (Tony), step-grandson Tom Presley (Lindley) and grandson-in-law Stephen Ertz; plus 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Presley is also survived by a sister, Leila Crawford Worthy of Orchard Hill, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sara Crawford Goodman Presley will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Dr. Bill Hardy will officiate. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the funeral home.

Miss Bettie M. Durham, 84, of Griffin, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Spalding Regional Hospital.
She was born in Thomaston to the late Jesse Lee Durham and the late Inez Wynn Durham. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Millwood Durham.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at St. George’s Episcopal Church. The Rev. Nancy Shepherd will officiate.

Mrs. Talma Pritchard Shivers, 94, of Pike County, passed away March 3, 2013.
She was born in Griffin on Jan. 22, 1919. For many years she worked as a lab technician for H & N Labs in Griffin. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, gardening and watching soap operas. She loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Elijah Shivers, her son, Larry Shivers, brother, John Pritchard, and sister, Nell Puttman.
She is survived by her sons, Bill Shivers of Zebulon and Wayne Shivers of Williamson; grandchildren and their spouses, Lynn Horton and Bill Corley of Thomaston, Tim and Traci Shivers and Kim and Glen Rawlins, all of Zebulon, Kelly and Frank Bennett of Marietta, Kris and David Dunn of High Falls, Wayne Shivers Jr. of Williamson; great-grandchildren, Shane and Anna Leigh Horton, Hailey Shivers, Hannah Shivers, Austin Rawlins, Katie Rawlins, Wil Bennett, Landon Bennett, Rachel Dunn and Riley Dunn; great-great-grandchildren, Raegan and Spencer Horton; sister, Mary Parkman of Carrollton; special friends, Patsy Howard of Griffin, Jerri Proctor of High Falls and Arlene Ingram of Barnesville.
Friends may visit the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 5 at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6 in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Zebulon with Dr. Ed Hoard officiating.

Mrs. Willie Lee Harper, 96, of Jackson, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Westbury Medical Care Home.
Mrs. Harper was born on March 28, 1916 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lon Crane. She is also preceded in death by first husband, Clarence Varnom, second husband, Marion Harper; daughter, Doris Lee Harrell. Mrs. Harper was a member of West Sunny Side Community Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Thelma Rodgers and husband, Tom; son, Melvin “Buddy” Varnom; son-in-law, Alex Harrell; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; brother, James “Buster” Crane; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. Willie Lee Harper will be on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Mike Barnes will officiate. Interment will follow in Teamon Baptist Church Cemetery.
