On Wednesday, Feb. 13, Spalding County Sheriff’s Office Detention Deputy Jeshon Burden, 33, was arrested on charges of battery and violation of oath of office. Burden, an 11-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office, was arrested following an investigation regarding a report he assaulted an inmate in the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center. The investigation conducted by the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office revealed the incident occurred on Feb. 11, in the booking area of the Detention Center. Burden has been released on $2613.50 bond.
