Please be advised that we are not having the Sixth Street Bridge Re-opening today, Tuesday, Feb. 12. There is a 100 percent chance of rain at 4 p.m. The Main Street Advisory Board Chair and Special Projects Coordinator Vicki Hyatt had to make the unfortunate decision to postpone the opening.

We are moving the date to Thursday, February 14, with all other details being the same, Hyatt said.

A ceremonial first walk and ride will cross the bridge starting at 4 p.m., followed by a ribbon cutting and small ceremony in the Park at Sixth. Those who’d like to part of the procession are asked to meet at the intersection of Chappell and 6th streets.

well the bridge is open,

and no safety fence

who will be the first jumper, and will Griffin rename the bridge for that person or will they add safety fencing.

a ceremony for a bridge opening, what was the cost $ for that, bet the money used could have been put to use for a safety fence.

I am putting in a new toilet at my house, can Griffin help me with a opening ceremony who will do the first flush.

Just open the bridge already, why do we need a ceremony. I think its funny that kroger was started after the bridge and kroger is already open.
