The bond hearing for the man accused of murdering a 9-year-old girl will be at 9 a.m. Thursday.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, the bond hearing for Shane Clifton Collett will be held before Superior Court Judge Tommy Hankinson in the fourth-floor courtroom at the Spalding County Courthouse.

Collett, 40, of 678 Yarbrough Mill Road, Williamson, was arrested Dec. 22 on charges of murder, kidnapping and concealing a death, in connection with the death of 9-year-old Skylar Dials, who was reported missing the day before and was found dead in the woods behind her home. Collett has been held without bond in the Spalding County Detention Center since his arrest.

He lived at the house next door to Dials, which was where she was heading for a play date on Friday, as she had done before. She had left home, cutting through the woods to visit a friend at 11 a.m. Dec. 21, and was reported missing at about 3:45 p.m. that day when she never arrived.

The results of the autopsy from the GBI crime lab have not yet been released.

Incredible that he would/should get a bond hearing at all, that being said I certainly hope if bond is set, its a million dollars. Good grief.
