The Griffin Police Department (GPD) responded to a residence on Ellis Street Friday shortly after midnight in reference to a fight.

According to a GPD incident report, police officers observed a black male walking toward them as they turned onto Ellis Street. The male — reportedly 20 years old — was bleeding from his mouth and not wearing a shirt, so police asked him to go back to his residence and get out of the cold.

At the residence, where officers also made contact with his 43-year-old father, the male stated that he was at home when the 26-year-old female with whom he has a child came beating on the front door. Along with the female were two juveniles — later identified as Cabrel Devon Watkins, 18, and Christopher Deandre Goodman, 17, both of Griffin.

The male further stated that the female was mad at him because he brought their baby back to her in the cold. The female reportedly kept calling him, but since he “didn’t want the drama,” he took the child back home.

The male and his father both told police that when the female, Watkins and Goodman knocked on the door, it sounded as if they were trying to kick it in.
